As The Story Goes

beautiful User's Review Lenovo ideapad s100These days the trends speaks highly of smartphones and tablets, while laptops and Notebooks seems somewhat too heavy to even consider. It’s no surprise as present technology is so keen to people who are on the go and everybody seems to be always on the go, though technically speaking they are not. To be honest with current technology and trend favoring tablets and smarthphones I find no hurry to get either a laptop or a notebook and since I have a tablet and a smartphone to boot, the need wasn’t there at all. Until I realized the hard way when my PC gave up for about a day and had to depend heavily on my tablet for the days work, though I  manage to get things done it wasn’t easy as I set my tablet solely for monitoring proposes. Anyway, few months ago I decided to buy me a notebook, originally I was planning to buy a laptop, the downside to this thought is that laptops are bulkier and in this country its extremely expensive, so I opted for the next best thing by getting a notebook. Notebook’s compact in size make it more practical for me, I also found out that having both my tablet and notebook worked seamlessly together like having 2 monitors. It did took me a while before I manage to to find the right notebook and there were plenty of options, in the end I went for Ideapad S100 from Lenovo.

PB240413-a1-300x225 User's Review Lenovo ideapad s100Lenovo ideapad s100 is powered by an Intel Atom N455 1.66GHZ  processor though I understand that the there is another s100 version that sports the N570 chip based on some reviews though I personally haven’t seen one before or since. So one should expect the latest dual core version to be a lot faster than what I’m having. It should be noted that speed with regards to my unit is not really an issue as the system has a 2GB of RAM(DDR3).   Memory(HDD) strorage capacity for my unit is generously peg at 320GB while display is at 10.1″ LCD with LED backlight that boast a 1024X600 pixel display resolution, the unit also has a 3mp camera upfront for those cam to cam(c2c) types who just can’t get enough.  Battery power is provided by a 6-cell li-ion rechargeable battery with a battery lifespan of about 5.5 hours in full charge. Originally, when I got the unit the OS was on DOS but I had my brother install Windows 7 ultimate and it worked like a charm. The audio in this unit works just fine not that I needed it anyway. I’ve downloaded a few old RTS game on the unit and though its not a full pledge gaming loptop it seem to work remarkably well and with the exception of the old starcraft in which there is some minor issues with the graphic segments of the game having been discolored other than that its as smooth as silk. But aside from all of this, one best feature that the Lenovo Ideapad have and which my sister gladly point out is the unit’s keyboard. Compared to other notebook keyboards the Lenovo Ideapad S100 keyboard are bigger and after using my sister’s notebook I’m incline to agree wholeheartedly. Wireless connectivity options like b/g/n, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth are all in, up and ready.

In conclusion

The Lenovo Ideapad S100 offer its user more for something that comes in a small package similar to having a regular loptop. The Accutype keyboard brings accuracy, ease of use and comfort for maximum productivity. For recovery and data back-up, I find the onekey rescue system simplifies the otherwise tedious and anxiety driven job of keeping important data intact and recoverable. Another impressive feature is the quick start button that allow users to instantly connect to wi-fi spots. Battery is good enough to do your job on time in no time. The Only downside to Notebooks is that they don’t posses any DVD drive which could be very annoying. All in all the Lenovo Ideapad S100 is a total thumbs up guaranteed.
